Shipping policy
Once shipped, delivery typically takes 5–30 business days, depending on the destination, shipping carrier, customs processing, and other circumstances outside our control. Delivery estimates do not include the 10–14-business-day processing period.
Tracking and Delivery
Tracking information will be sent by email once your order has shipped. Please refer to the carrier’s tracking information for the most current delivery updates.
Library After Dusk is not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers, customs processing, severe weather, labour disruptions, or other circumstances outside our control.
If tracking indicates that your parcel may be delayed, lost, damaged, or incorrectly delivered, please contact the shipping carrier and Library After Dusk as soon as possible. We will assist with any available carrier investigation or claim. Resolutions are subject to the carrier’s policies, available shipping coverage, and applicable consumer laws.
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address when placing an order. Additional shipping charges may apply if an order must be resent because an incorrect or incomplete address was provided.
International Orders, Customs & Import Fees
Library After Dusk is based in Canada. Orders shipping outside Canada are considered international parcels and may be subject to import duties, taxes, customs charges, tariffs, brokerage fees, or carrier processing fees.
For destinations where duty collection is available, estimated import duties and taxes will be calculated and collected at checkout. For destinations or orders where these charges are not collected at checkout, any applicable import charges will remain the recipient’s responsibility and may be collected by the destination country’s customs authority or shipping carrier before delivery.
Amounts collected at checkout are estimates based on the order information and customs requirements available at the time of purchase. The destination country’s customs authority and shipping carrier make the final determination regarding product classification, country of origin, declared value, duties, taxes, and other import-related charges. The final amount assessed during customs clearance may differ from the amount estimated at checkout.
Brokerage, handling, disbursement, processing, or other carrier fees may not be included in the checkout calculation. If a shipping carrier requests an additional payment after duties and taxes were prepaid at checkout, please contact Library After Dusk as soon as possible so the charge can be reviewed with the carrier. Any additional charges will be handled according to the selected shipping service, carrier requirements, customs determination, and applicable consumer laws.
Library After Dusk is legally required to declare the full and accurate value of every order and provide customs documentation when required. Order values cannot be lowered or marked as gifts to avoid import charges.
Additional Charges After Checkout
Although estimated duties and import taxes may be collected at checkout, the destination country’s customs authority and shipping carrier make the final determination regarding all import-related charges.
Library After Dusk does not determine these charges, receive advance notice of additional assessments, or have access to the carrier’s itemized fee information.
If a customs authority or shipping carrier requests an additional payment during customs clearance or upon delivery, the recipient must contact the carrier or customs authority directly for an itemized explanation, further information, and payment instructions.
Additional duties, taxes, tariffs, brokerage fees, handling fees, disbursement fees, processing fees, or other import-related charges that were not included in the amount collected at checkout remain the recipient’s responsibility, subject to the selected shipping service and applicable laws.
If the recipient believes they have been charged twice for duties or taxes already prepaid at checkout, they should first request an itemized invoice or written explanation from the shipping carrier. This documentation may then be forwarded to Library After Dusk for review.
United States
U.S. import rules have changed, and some parcels may be subject to duties, taxes, tariffs, or carrier processing fees before delivery. These fees may be collected by the shipping carrier, customs authority, or shown at checkout when available.
If a shipping carrier or U.S. customs authority requests an additional import-related payment, the recipient must contact the carrier or customs authority directly. They will have access to the shipment assessment, itemized charges, and applicable customs information. Library After Dusk does not receive these details in advance and cannot explain or alter charges imposed during customs clearance.
United Kingdom, Australia & New Zealand
Orders shipping to the U.K., Australia, and New Zealand may be subject to local import duties, taxes, customs charges, or carrier processing fees depending on the order value, parcel contents, destination country, and local import rules.
